Kindergarten News
Happy July! Starbright begins this month with a three-day weekend. We’re closed on Monday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day. Have a great long weekend!

The Kindergarten has been having a blast so far this summer, and we plan to keep that up this month! We’ll continue our theme-based dinosaur lessons and move into a space theme towards the end of the month. We focus on these lessons on our stay-at-Starbright days (Tuesdays and Fridays)... don’t forget to ask us about we’ve learned!

As far as we know, the pool will remain closed this week and next as they continue to work on the pump. Next Thursday (the 8
th), we’ve scheduled a trip to Center Bowl in lieu of our regular swim day. Don’t forget to let us know your child’s shoe size sometime before we go. We’ll leave here at 10:00 as usual. We’re hoping the pool will reopen the following Thursday (the 15th), but will keep you posted as we know more.

On field trip days, please remember to have your child here by 9:30. We’re sitting down for calendar then, and getting ready to go. It’s also important that your child has a jacket and tennis shoes every day. As it gets hotter (and I’m confident that it will!), it’s also a good idea to send a water bottle, especially on park days. We don’t usually ask for volunteers for field trips, because we’re in ratio to go with just myself and Kat, but if we’re doing something that sounds fun to you, feel free to join us! We love to have you along!

Many of your children have been working hard completing book reports and earning body parts for our caterpillars in the window. Keep it up through July! It’s an easy way to keep (or get!) your child reading and writing throughout the summer. A reminder: please have the children do their own writing on reports. Developing these beginning writing skills set us up for success next year!

One more reminder: your child has a file in the front of the classroom. They fill up pretty quickly with artwork, class work, and lesson plans. Don’t forget to check your child’s file semi-regularly!

Thanks so much for your interest and involvement! It’s what makes our school a fun and exciting place for your child to come every day!
