-Independence Day
-Bugs
-Camping
-Pets
Dates to Remember: We are closed July 5
th in observance of Independence Day

Other Notables:
-We appreciate all the effort that everyone has been displaying when bringing in monthly snack. These snacks have been healthy , not to mention yummy and the children are really enjoying helping with the selections. We want to make sure that we fuel your child the right way to help them have enough energy for the rest of their busy day!!

-Please don’t forget to check your child’s cubby often to make sure that they have a full set of extra clothes. It’s very comforting to children when they experience a little spill or accident that they are able to change into their own familiar clothes. You probably will be surprised at how much your child has grown over the year!

-Do you know about your child’s inside cubby? These little cubbies are in the classroom on the right side and need to be checked at least once a week. Some children’s cubbies are overwhelmed with toys and creative artwork that need to be taken home. Please remember that toys should be limited to one and ONLY ON FRIDAYS!!!!! Check them out soon!
Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Reminders for New Fish Parents:
-Missy will be taking most of the summer off to take care of her new little Kya, whenever she decides to come out and play. Jenna will be taking over her shift and can help with any questions you have.

-Show n tell is on Friday mornings. Please help your child think of creative things to share with their friends. Show n tell is a great opportunity for your child to develop skills in public speaking, listening and patience. As they build these skills, they develop their self-esteem and self confidence. The more interesting and thought provoking the object or toy is, the easier it is for the children to pay attention. Think of things that hold meaning, it could be a shell that they’ve found at the beach, an old bee’s hive from your backyard.....there are endless possibilities just remember that it MUST be small enough to fit in their cubby.

-Remember to sign up for snack once a month. We ask that you keep things healthy by bringing in at least two of the food groups (enough for 20 children) This could include cheese and crackers, bagels and cream cheese, muffins and fruit, or graham cracker and yogurt. No cookies or sweets unless it is a special occasion like a birthday. Have your child be involved in this selection process helps encourage healthy choices and teaches the importance of nutrition. We have lists of ideas, just ask!!

-Please, please make sure that your child has a pair of inside shoes (these shoes DO NOT go home) and a pair of outside shoes that children can wear outside and home. Tie shoes are only okay if your child is actively learning to tie their own shoes otherwise please make sure that they are something your child can put on by themselves. Flip Flops are not allowed on the playground but we know that it gets warm outside so we are allowing sandals WITH socks. Any questions on this, please ask Missy. Making sure that you have indoor and outdoor shoes helps us keep our school clean!!! Thanks for your help!

-Don’t forget a light jacket for your child. It is often quite chilly in the morning when we go outside.

-Many people are confused on the rules about personal toys. Our rule in the Fish room are that personal toys are not allowed except on Fridays although children are allowed to bring ONE stuffed animal to sleep with during nap time. A side note on this, Literacy is a valued thing in our classroom. Books are always open, meaning your child may bring books in every day to share with the class.

Just make sure to have a fun, safe summer!!!

Missy, Jenna, Dawn and Kat
