Summer Necessities
All children must have a friendly outside shoes with closed toes and socks. Please, no shoes with laces if your child in unable to tie their own shoes. (It will keep children's feet safe when running, bouncing, hopping etc.) Please make sure your child can put his/her shoes on all by themselves. Here at Starbright we promote independence than to put on his/her shoes all by themselves.

If your child is bringing home lunch, we love to see your child's lunch with most the 5 food groups. Home lunch is a great way to give your child the independence they love by choosing what  they get to eat, and showing them healthy choices. In the Bear Cub room we do allow a special treat everyday in their home lunches, but we do ask that they be a small snack.

Thank you for remembering that personal toys are welcome ONLY on Fridays. We have scheduled a time for the Part time children to participate in Show and Tell on Tuesdays. If your Bear Cub is not here on Friday for Show and Tell they our welcome to bring theirs on Tuesday. Please, this is only for part time Bear Cubs. All full time Bear Cubs will continue Show and Tell on Friday.

Reminder to "take home" blankets and pillows on Friday's to be cleaned. Due to Municipality regs, we have been told that blankets and especially pillows HAVE to fit in your child's nap time box. It is considered "cross contamination". Please take a look at your pillows and if they are too large please bring in a smaller pillow or they may use Starbright's.
Great job emptying your child's cubby on Friday. This helps us make room for more of your child's art work without it getting damaged, lost or over flowing onto the floor.

Starbright is now online! You can checkout the Starbright web site at Starbrightlc.com. We are in the process of updating the web site with all the Starbright lesson plans, news letters and classroom photos of your kid's.

Hello and welcome to all of my new Bear Cub friends and family. Teacher Amanda and I are excited to have you join us. Summer is here.........Yeah!!! We will be spending as much time as possible outside. Just a few reminders for our new friends and family, and for our returning friends the up coming month.

Snack sign up sheet:
Please sign up one day this month to bring in a healthy snack for your Bear Cub and his/ her classmates. We have a list of possible suggestions if you need help in deciding what to bring.

Inside & Outside shoes:
Parents, please bring in a pair of closed toes slip on shoes for your Bear Cub to wear outside. One of our goals in the Bear Cub room is independence, and being able to put on your own shoes is one way for your Bear Cub to build independence. Also, please have a separate pair of inside shoes for your child to wear. They may be flip flops, slippers etc. Please no plastic princess shoes. They are not safe for your child to walk in on the slippery floor.

Class Start Time:
Please try to have your children here by 9:00 a.m. Our morning class time begins at 9:30 a.m. and I want your child to have to opportunity to play with his/ her friends before we begin our day. Our morning routine begins with group time. Where we discuss out morning topics, then followed by either table work, Spanish, Sign language, or class work (open room, art etc.). I want your child to participate in all of these activities, and to help build socialization skill, language skill, leadership qualities all to make a well rounded child. Coming in early helps with good bye transitions in the morning. Furthermore, it s very disruptive to our morning when children are brought in late.

Bug Spray/ Sun screen:
Parents,
Yes summer has finally come, and we will be asking you to bring in bug spray and sun screen for your child. If you have a specific brand please bring it in, if you do not have a preference we have some at Starbright. This will alleviate 20 bottles to go through. A sign up sheet / permission form will be placed on the attendance clip board for bug spray and sun screen. We will be applying the bug spray and sun screen every time your child goes outdoors.

Father s Day/ Special person Party:
Friday June 18th @ 3:30-4:30 we will be holding an Root Beer Float Party for Father s Day. If you have any questions please ask.

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in his/her cubby incase of water play, art /lunch or occasional accident.

If you have any questions or concerns please ask. I know with your support this summer will be a great one.

Thank you,
Teacher s Kayleen, Amanda and Sheri
