Seal Pups
Our Seal Pups classroom has a student-teacher ratio of 8-1 with a group size of 16 children. This is our youngest group of children who are only three years old. Because they are still so young, they receive a little extra attention and nurturing as they work on social skills and self-help activities. Rudimentary preschool activities are offered as these children learn how to follow simple directions and work in small groups.
Bear Cubs
Our Bear Cubs room is for 20 children, three and four years old. Children in this classroom are becoming more independent, interactive, and interested in teacher-directed activities. They are working in both small and large group activities including: music, movement, story-time, math, science, and language arts. Child-teacher ratios vary between 7-1 and 10-1.
Fish Room
In this classroom, we have 20 children between four and five years old. Although child-directed activities are still prevalent, children participate in more teacher-directed small and large group instruction. They are becoming more independent, able to follow two and three-step directions and begin to learn phonics and simple handwriting skills. Children in this room are more interested in playing interactive games as they lose some of their egocentricity from earlier years. Child-teacher ratios in this room are 10-1.
